This privacy policy describes how Kynne AB ("we", "us") handles your information when you use the Mac app Vaska ("the App"). In short: the App collects no data at all.
No data collection
Vaska has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and it doesn't connect to the internet. Nothing you do in the App is sent to us or to anyone else.
Your photos
Vaska reads the photos on the memory cards and folders you open, to show them to you. It never changes, moves or deletes anything on the card.
The photos you choose to import are added to your Photos library on your Mac. If you use iCloud Photos, Apple syncs them as usual under Apple's own privacy policy.
If you turn on “Open Vaska when a memory card is inserted”, a small helper runs in the background. It only checks whether a newly inserted disk has a DCIM folder, and then opens Vaska.
Access to Photos
Vaska asks for access to Photos the first time you import. It uses that access only to:
- Add the photos you keep to your library, in an album if you choose one.
- List your albums, so you can pick one to import into.
- Recognize photos already in your library, so they aren't imported twice.
You can turn off the access at any time in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos.
What Vaska stores on your Mac
Your marks and ratings, the list of photos you have imported, your settings and the memory cards you have allowed Vaska to read are saved in the App's own folder on your Mac. They never leave your Mac.
Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated in the App or via the App Store.
